Refine Six

I’m six today (May 20)!!  Yes! Six years old! Wow! I can’t believe it…..I am an old cow!

Six years ago today I rezzed in this wonderful virtual world of Second Life, driven partially by curiosity and real life works.  This is the first virtual game I played and since then I never turned back.

I can’t believe it has been six years!  Six years is a long time for me.  Not only many things have changed for me in SL, I have been through a lot in RL for the past six years too but I am glad I have always had SL by my side on those bright or gloomy days.  I see turning six as a great milestone, in fact a fabulous achievement in SL.  Looking back, I have grown a lot in SL and the changes and experience I had, have come to defined who I am in SL today.

The other day I overheard a friend describing her two-year son as the “Terrible Twos”, and I thought if I have to call six years old something what would I call it?

For six years, I have found my interest, my friends and myself in SL.  The journey has shaped and cultured me and make me who I am today, so I like to call it “REFINE SIX”.

Today, I like to treat myself to all things beautiful.  I have been admiring this Origami Galliano Dress from ChicZafari for some time now and finally bought it as a rezz day present to myself; and I am lucky to have this beautiful Iconic Heels from BSD Design and the Persia Clutch from Pure Poison that when I put all together, is a well defined look.  For the details of what I am wearing, do check my style card below.

I always believe there is a story behind of every life, or every age in this case.  Strawberry Singh did a “Draw my life” on youtube on her 6th rezz day and as much as I love to participate, I am a complete noob in making a video.  Hence, instead of doing that, I deviated and had some fun naming my SL age.  I called mine the “Refine Six” and I am going to celebrate my rezz day today by kick starting a mini blogger challenge, something that I have always wanted to do for quite sometime now.

I am calling this a “Name Your SL Age” Blogger Challenge.   This will be a year long blogger challenge starting today (May 20, 2013) and ending on my rezz day next year (May 20, 2014).  If you are interested, please read more about the challenge here!

Ricielli

This season Ricielli releases a fancy and visually artistic range of collections that’s focusing on colours and studs, at the AVENUE Fashion Week.  I had the pleasure to showcase two of the sets at the show earlier and this is my favourite.

While the jacket and skirt are white colour, there are alot of details on them.  I’m not a big fan of studs but I have fallen in love with Fhara’s work because her studs has great details and “reflections” even from the far.  Check them out for yourself!

Emerald

I have to admit I haven’t been on top of releases at Chop Zuey recently.  It’s really my fault as I have been on a casual and relaxed mode until Belle dropped me this gown that I am so impressed I have to showcase it.

The Emerald gown is not just a gown but a jewelled gown that comes with amazing and striking accessories and jewelry such as the headset, gloves, earrings, bracelet and an exquisite jewel corset.  I also like the texture on the gown.  It has a natural glow and shimmery feeling to it.

The Emerald Gown is available at the Hollywood event that runs until April 14.   That’s just one day left but no sweat, I have your limo ready here to grab this fabulous piece.

Stardom

Oscar is a light and classy gown by Vero Modero that is perfect for that red carpet event in Spring.  This gown will emphasizes your status as a star yet not overshadowing your beauty and charisma.

I paired my Oscar gown with the Beth Necklace by Pure Poison and also the Mystery of Owl Rings by Chop Zuey Couture.  I looked like I have put these styling together with very little efforts because all the items go perfectly together.

Decided to loose the clutch and go a little defiant, I am wearing my Chic Zafari Crescent claw-like nails.   Always wanted to look the best, the Star always pays attention to all the little details, including her claws.  I mean nails. ;)

Family Portrait – Wizard of Oz

Everyone has got what they wanted and it’s time for Dorothy to head home!  Before that, let’s pose for a family portrait…..

HANDverk has made a series of relic items based on the original child novel ”Wizard of Oz”, for the latest Arcade event.

“The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, written by L. Frank Baum and published in 1900. The story tells of girl, Dorothy Gale, who gets swept away from her Kansas home by a tornado and lands in the land of Oz. She strives to return home to Kansas and in the process meets her three cohorts, the Scarecrow, Tin Woodsman and the Cowardly Lion, all of whom have their own desires that together they attempt to have fulfilled by the magical Wizard of Oz.

The story has become beloved in American culture mostly due to the 1939 MGM film starring Judy Garland. There are a number of differences and significant omissions the film that becomes apparent as one examines the items in this collection. Dorothy’s ruby slippers were originally silver in the book and items such as the green spectacles and golden cap were never a part of the famous movie.

This set are interpretations of the descriptions of important items in the story and are not intended to be literal. The book was originally illustrated by Baum’s friend and collaborator W. W. Denslow. The design of the book was lavish for the time with many illustrations in many colors. The MGM film borrowed liberally from Denslow’s depictions, but there is much room for interpretation regarding many of the items depicted by the set.

The original book has been in the public domain since 1956 and can be accessed online via many websites.”

If you are a Wizard of Oz’s fan, these are something that you really shouldn’t miss and if you are also a gatcha fan, then the more your should take this LM and let these items and event blown you away!
